Concert by the Görög Sisters – as part of the "Klassz a pARTon!" Festival at the Csigó Malom

“The fundamental question for piano duos is: how well can they truly play together? With the Görög Sisters, it’s almost unbelievable – I have never, not for a single microsecond, heard them out of sync. They’re not just sisters in real life, but seem like a single person with four hands. They play with extraordinary coordination.”

— János Mácsai, New Music Journal (Új Zenei Újság)

Noémi Görög and Enikő Görög were born in Subotica, where they attended music school before earning their piano performance degrees under Ninoslav Živković in Belgrade in 2007 and 2010, respectively. Both went on to complete doctoral studies at the same institution.

Noémi Görög teaches at the Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica, while Enikő Görög is a lecturer at the University of Szeged’s Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts.

The sisters have performed together as a piano duo since 2004 and continue to appear primarily in this formation. Their repertoire includes major works of four-hand and two-piano literature. A distinctive feature of their programs is the regular inclusion of works and arrangements by contemporary composers, many of which were written specifically for them.

They have performed in numerous countries and received prestigious accolades, including:

  • 2024, Vienna – 5th Vienna International Music Competition: Gold Medal in Chamber Music

  • 2023, Vienna – 4th Vienna International Music Competition: Gold Medal in Contemporary Music
