TESTIMONIAL
Áron Gábor, a painter (born in Budapest on August 2, 1954), is a creator of significant importance in both the domestic and international contemporary visual arts scene.
His work is highly diverse. He is primarily known as a painter and graphic artist, but since the 1980s, he has also been active in the art world as a sculptor, performer, and through his video works and installations.
In 2023, the public had the opportunity to encounter a cross-section of Áron Gábor's four-decade-long creative career in a comprehensive exhibition spanning three rooms at the Kunsthalle in Budapest.
His works convey messages through their use of color. From his lyrically toned paintings created with the tools of abstraction, through his philosophically themed works, to his highly suggestive large-scale paintings, I encountered his works in his studios in Badacsonytomaj and Budapest.
Last year, his works exhibited at the Csigó Mill as part of the Veszprém-Balaton European Capital of Culture event series will be on display in our gallery in 2024 as well.
Since 2018, he has been a member of the Board of Trustees and the art curator of the Csigó Mill Cultural and Art Center Foundation.
