Ditta Rohmann is a highly versatile musician, known for her exceptional abilities across various fields of music.
She pursued her studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston with Suren Bagratuni, at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest with Miklós Perényi, and at the Basel Academy of Music with Ivan Monighetti. She drew important inspiration from masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Boris Pergamenschikow, Jean-Guihen Queyras, András Schiff, György Kurtág, Steven Isserlis, Tita Wagner, and most notably, Ferenc Rados. Among her numerous awards, her achievements at the 2012 Bach Competition in Leipzig stand out.
She has collaborated with several Hungarian dance companies and has performed as a soloist 13 times with the Vienna State Ballet.
Ditta has repeatedly returned to the International Musicians Seminar in Prussia Cove (UK), led by Steven Isserlis, which she considers her musical family.
Her repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary compositions and improvisation. Her close collaborations with esteemed composers such as Péter Eötvös and Sofia Gubaidulina reflect her dedication to performing and promoting diverse musical works.
Among her most outstanding recordings are five solo albums featuring the complete works for cello by J.S. Bach, as well as her repertoire for five-string cello and violin. Her interpretation of Bach’s cello suites—reflecting a keen interest in historical performance practice—has been critically acclaimed and was listed among the finest by the English magazine Gramophone.
Teaching plays a central role in Ditta’s life. She was recently appointed Professor at the University of Lucerne, and since 2020, she has been the Head of the Cello Department at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. In her masterclasses, she uses tone painting as a tool for improvisation and live composition. Her pedagogical approach can best be described as holistic. She believes in nurturing a healthy and creative new generation of artists.

Edina Szirtes has lived under the spell of music since childhood. Following her classical music studies—qualifying as a violinist, chamber musician, and music educator—she has flourished both as a composer and performer. Her creative career began with a composer’s evening at the Palace of Arts in Budapest, although she had already been composing earlier, including works for the Szeged Contemporary Ballet.
She has written music for numerous theatrical productions, including summer performances at the Székesfehérvár Theatre, internationally acclaimed shows by the ReCirquel Company (MyLand, Solus Amor, Ima), and plays by the Baltazár Theatre. The premiere of her work at the Krone Circus in Munich was met with a standing ovation from an audience of 3,000.
She has released 13 albums of original compositions and performs regularly, both solo and in various formations—for example, with the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra and Dániel Gryllus. Her awards include the Artisjus Award, Fonogram Award, Ferenc Erkel Award, and in 2022, she was named Best Film Composer of the Year.
